From her home based studio in Betty’s Bay, situated in the stunning Kogelberg biosphere, Overstrand, Western Cape, the ceramicist Toinette Lindley creates a range of unique pieces, ranging from bespoke tableware and porcelain jewelry, to one-off art pieces.

While her company tLc represents the initials of her name, it also reflects the “tender loving care” that she instills into every distinctive piece she creates.

Toinette shares with us, “ I especially enjoy creating bespoke pieces that include names and dates, turning them into gifts which will last a lifetime.

Living in nature deeply affects my work. I’m inspired by the wild beaches, the sweeping mountains and the fynbos fauna and flora, which all inspire my creations, adding to the detail and sculptural elements found in my work. I especially love to work in porcelain which has a bone like quality, and is so smooth that it shows incredible detail.”

Toinette also runs weekly ceramic classes and regular workshops from her light and airy studio.
